IBB Customer Support for Real Estate Funding
The customer support team for real estate funding provides information on sustainability topics and is available to answer questions. They also offer newsletters and customer events on new or updated funding products and current trends in the Berlin real estate market. Additionally, the team regularly participates in events hosted by various network partners to stay informed on current topics and developments, ensuring they can provide customers with appropriate advice.
The department has a five-figure annual budget for training on professional or personal topics to keep employees up to date on relevant issues. Furthermore, IBB is a member of several industry associations, including the Berlin-Brandenburg Association of Housing Companies (BBU) and the German Property Federation (ZIA).

Expansion of a Sustainability Network
IBB has established an extensive network focusing on sustainability in Berlin. Key partners include Berlin Partner, the Chamber of Crafts (HWK), the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Coordination Office for Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency, and Climate Protection in Operations (KEK), and nawi.berlin. These network partners offer customers valuable, free resources on various aspects of transitioning to a climate-neutral city.
Information session: "Creating a Greenhouse Gas Balance"
In 2024, IBB collaborated with KEK to host its first information session on "Creating a Greenhouse Gas Balance" for business development customers. This session was designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) identify various emission scopes and and identify potential savings in CO₂ consumption.
IBB Customer Portal
The Investitionsbank Berlin offers its customers a digital platform, our customer portal. This is the preferred channel for conveniently submitting application forms for products and additional documents to IBB and staying in digital contact with IBB throughout the funding and financing process. The web-based portal and the associated forms are compatible with a wide range of end devices and browser technologies, making access to our products significantly easier for all target groups.

Our programs support companies and start-ups in Berlin in achieving success. The Programm für Internationalisierung – Förderung von KMU-Projekten supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Berlin in tapping into international markets. The program supports companies through trade fair appearances, sales development, and international marketing measures.
The Berliner InvestitionsBONUS provides essential funding for business expansion, relocation, or restructuring. Additional support is available for particularly sustainable projects to integrate environmentally friendly practices.
The Women-Specific Orientation and Qualification Program offers courses, seminars, and coaching for women interested in starting businesses or already self-employed. Initial consultations and referrals for aspiring female entrepreneurs are also included.
Through Qualifizierung Kulturwirtschaft, freelancers and self-employed individuals in the cultural sector receive guidance and training on non-artistic, profession-relevant knowledge.

Startups are vital to economic vitality. The GründungsBONUS Plus provides support for innovative startups in their critical early stages. Programs like Pro FIT – Early-Stage Financing and Pro FIT – Project Financing offer substantial grants and loans to cover startup and R&D costs, fostering groundbreaking innovations.
The Berliner Startup Stipendium program provides financial support to tech-oriented founders aiming to start innovative, knowledge- and technology-based companies.
University Startup Support includes funding to promote entrepreneurship and stimulate an entrepreneurial spirit within universities.

Sustainability is key to Berlin's future. The Wirtschaftsnahe Elektromobilität (WELMO) program supports businesses transitioning to electric mobility by providing grants for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, reducing CO₂ emissions.
With GründachPLUS and SolarPLUS, we promote green roofs, facade greenery, and the expansion of photovoltaic systems. These initiatives improve urban climate, enhance quality of life, and support climate adaptation and protection.
Youth Voluntary Services under the ESF+ Framework offers one-year educational programs focusing on youth organizational work, ecology, and culture, fostering civic engagement among young people.

Our Transfer BONUS program facilitates technology transfer and knowledge exchange between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and scientific institutions, promotes innovation, and supports research collaborations. In addition, measures are being strengthened to facilitate access to knowledge, qualifications, and new impetus for Berlin-based SMEs. This contributes to the capital's long-term innovative strength and competitiveness.
